We use our hands constantly – they work very hard for us and we tend to take them for granted. It is only when they begin to let us down with arthritis, loss of grip or dexterity that we realise how important they are!
There are thousands of sensory nerve endings in the hands, so they are particularly sensitive to touch. The whole body is mapped out on the hands just as it is on the feet. There are also 6 meridians and 49 acupressure points on the hands and lower arms, and by working on these can have a profound effect on the body as well as the mind and emotions.
This uses massage and acupressure techniques to work on 49 acupressure points and 6 meridians on the hands and lower arms. It helps to release tension and increases circulation and joint flexibility. It leaves your hands feeling soft, subtle and relaxed.
More than just a hand massage, a Tsuboki Hand Massage includes:
- A detailed warm up to the forearm (as this is where most of the muscles are that control hand movement). This reduces tension in the forearm and increases circulation to the hands.
- Warm up and mobilisation of hands and wrists. This gets into the nooks and crannies of the hand and reaches the tiny muscles. Massage helps to keep the many joints of the fingers flexible and healthy. Crystals are used on the hands and arms to impart their qualities into the skin and beyond. The use of crystals tools also benefit the muscles of the hands and arms.
- A thorough massage on all surfaces of the hands, thus accessing all reflex areas. An organic hand cream lotion or oil will be applied to pamper the hands. A thorough massage will be given to all surfaces of the hands. This also helps access all the reflex areas.
- The final stage is for the 50 acupressure points on 6 meridians on the hands and forearms to be worked on to balance the whole body and to benefit the mind and emotions.
